From July 1 to 2, 2022, the Barcelona Maker Faire was held in Barcelona at Plaça Gutemberg.
Maker Faire is an annual event that is visited by a large number of visitors. The event is an opportunity for enthusiasts, innovators, designers, artists, "hackers", programmers to show their inventions and ideas, which attracts curious people who gather from different parts of the world as well as those who are close to the event itself. It is also an opportunity for young people to change their experiences at the held workshops and lectures and for the youngest visitors to get to know the creative world in one place.
The Institute of Entrepreneurial Education and Innovation submitted the BIOPLAnet project, which was approved for participation in this event.
We took the opportunity and were part of this well-attended event where we discussed environmental problems with visitors, showed samples made from melted corks, introduced them to the possibility of making bioplastics and its application in the world and the circular economy.
This was a great opportunity for the POI Institute to participate with its project in a multitude of projects presented by other associations and legal entities such as TransfoLAB BCN, UPC ecoRacing, Tangenical, and others with a similar creative and innovative approach.
