On the Island Mljet, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, a one-day event was organized with the students of the Mljet Elementary School with the help of the principal Sanja Lazo, B.Sc. of psychology, which divided the students into two groups, lower and upper grades. In front of the school, we placed elements related to bioplastics and a part related to devices for crushing and squeezing out melted plastic (caps, crushed caps, molds, formed shapes). With a wonderful view of the open sea, an interesting discussion was held with the students about the separation of waste, the problems that the island of Mljet has with regard to the enormous amount of waste that comes from the currents from the south, and about bioplastics as a variant solution to that problem, in general and locally. With squeals and laughter, the students rushed up the hill for more than 100 steps to the parking lot where we placed the BIOPLAnet van in which the aforementioned devices were located, which caused excitement and further questions, what, how, in what way? Further cooperation has been agreed to leave the devices for use in the next visit to the school, and they all can think together about the final product you want to have or create.
